The Pop Stick Hybrid has been designed for an intermediate rider looking to take the next step in progression, or a more experienced rider looking to squeeze the most out of the smaller summer days, without sacrificing performance. It features a small wave shortboard template combined with our hybrid construction style.
Key Features
HYBRID CONSTRUCTION - a Stringered EPS Core, wrapped in Fibreglass Cloth, Bamboo Deck Reinforcement & Epoxy Resin, which is then encapsulated by a traditional Softboard IXL Deck Skin and HD Slick.
CNC SHAPED PERFORMANCE TEMPLATE - This model uses a small-wave shortboard template. Compared to a regular shortboard, it features a little extra width, a higher widepoint and slightly flatter rocker which all help assist with paddle power and performance in weaker waves.
TEXTURED TAIL PIECE - We've added a textured EVA tailpiece to help with back foot traction, much like a regular tailpad, but without the risk of it coming unstuck!
FUTURES FIN SYSTEM - (FINS INCLUDED) This ensures it is easy to install and remove fins, and is compatible with other Future Fins, allowing you to change your fins to suit conditions or alter board performance.

Hybrid Board Construction
Like name suggests, we've combined the favourable elements from both a Performance Fibreglass Boards & and Entry Level Softboard to create a selection of board that stays true to our core values of Quality, Performance and Safety.
Put simply, the construction consists of a Stringered EPS Core, wrapped in Fibreglass Cloth & Epoxy Resin, which is then encapsulated by a traditional Softboard deck skin and slick.
Detailed Construction Specs:
24kg Density Moulded EPS Core
- This core provide unhindered strength and enhanced durability while retaining light weight characteristics. It also has the most buoyancy and floatation of all surfboard cores.
Stringer System
- Each Hybrid Board contains a stringer which acts as a backbone to the EPS Core. In the smaller models (6'0 and below), we use a light-weight Fibreglass Stringer, while the larger sizes (6'2+) we use a Solid Bamboo Stringer for increased strength.
Internal Membrane
- Each Softlite Hybrid Series board contains 3 layers of 6oz Fibreglass set with Epoxy Resin on the Deck Side. (Standard Shortboards usually 2 X 4oz or 6oz)
- On the Slick side contains 1 layers of 6oz Fibreglass set with Epoxy Resin. (Standard Shortboards usually 1 X 4oz or 6oz)
External Membrane
- On the deck side this is encapsulated by a 5mm IXPE Deck skin for extra strength, durability and traction.
- On the slick side, this is encapsulated by a super High Density PE Slick Bottom for protection, speed and durability.
Futures Fin System
- We use an industry standard Futures Fin Box. This allows quick and easy fin installation and removal.
- It is compatible with all Futures Fins making it easy to change fins to suit conditions or alter board performance.

HIGHER PERFORMANCE!
The Hybrid Construction style has allowed us to create softboards that are much closer to a traditional fibreglass surfboard.
The addition of the Fibreglass Membrane makes them considerably stiffer, which increases the speed you are able to generate from your bottom turn and maintain through turns.
The added strength has also allowed us to make them a touch thinner which aids in increasing responsiveness and manoeuvrability.

Delivery times for rural areas can vary depending on how often couriers service your location. Some rural deliveries may only be serviced once a week, so we recommend checking with your local rural courier if timing is important.

How Australian Orders Work
Order Processing
Orders do not ship same-day. All Australian orders first arrive at our Auckland HQ warehouse, where they are collated and processed for export. This can take up to 3 business days before dispatch.
Multiple Items
If your order contains multiple items, we’ll collate them at our Auckland HQ and ship them together so your order arrives in full.
Remote Areas
Delivery to rural or remote parts of Australia, including WA, NT, and Far North QLD, may take longer than the standard 4–6 business day estimate.
Dispatch Schedule
Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm NZ time. Our daily processing cut-off is 3:00pm NZ time. Orders placed after this, on weekends, or on public holidays will be processed the next business day.

You’ll automatically receive a Team Global Express tracking link once your parcel leaves Auckland and is scanned into the carrier network.
Customs & Duty Charges
International orders may be subject to customs or import duties once they reach Australia. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient. Hyper Ride cannot control, predict, or waive these fees, and we cannot mark orders as gifts.
