THE UGLY TRUTH
Traction has been left in the dust. Nearly 50 years from its creation, traction has yet to take the giant revolutionary leap like surfboards, leashes, wetsuits, fins and boardshorts have.
Surf grip is still made using the same inefficient and limiting processes as it has for decades.
Currently, making one tail pad creates 67%* EVA foam waste. And with anywhere from 13 to 24 Million surfboards being sold each year, it’s an ugly truth that produces a mountain of EVA foam off-cuts and dust.

We worked with World Champs Mick Fanning and Italo Ferreira to re-imagine traction as we know it. And when it comes to performance, they each have radically different approaches and preferences...
Mick Fanning: 5'11" natural foot with a fundamental approach that's calculated and precise.
Italo Ferreira: 5'7" goofy foot with explosive, unpredictable flair and a massive bag of tricks.
With 4X World Titles and an Olympic Gold medal between them, we had the confidence to raise the bar.
MULTI-LOC™: WORLD-FIRST MULTI-DIRECTIONAL GRIP PATTERN
13X World Titles have been won using our proven Square-Loc and Diamond-Loc traction patterns. This influenced the fundamental development of MULTI-LOC™.
Through the 3-year R&D process, we introduced foot mapping to analyse exactly what Mick and Italo required to push their level of connection and response.
Mick altered every detail down to a fraction of a millimeter, including the direction, angle and space of each traction element.
Italo increased the profile of the traction on the kick incline and in the "sweet spot".
Prototype Notes: Mick and Italo settled on a 55 duro for the perfect density. Not too hard, not too soft.
RECOIL KICK: SPRING LOADED KICK TAILS
"I love! Can I get a steeper kick?" - Italo
The RECOIL kick is where it all started and was identified as a potential game-changing component to modern surfing. The rear hex pattern offers a natural folding point that springs back when compressed. The steep alpine kick provides engaged response through critical manoeuvres.
The form-fitting concave underside is designed for the convex deck of a performance surfboard for premium application. A channel on the top of the kick allows flex to form-fit any shaped deck.
Italo steepened the kick to a 46° angle.
Prototype Notes: The increased kick angle raised its overall height from 32mm to 38mm.
PRO-FORM ARCH: COMFORT AND SUPPORT LIKE A RUNNING SHOE

The PRO-FORM arch is based off our proven tear drop shape and is over-moulded by a grip pattern that is designed for comfort. The result is a squishy base and contoured shape that hugs your foot, helping soften the impact of hard landings.
It is compression moulded to the MULTI-LOC™ traction without the use of glue. This creates a single component that keeps water out.
Prototype Notes: Mick and Italo softened the arch squishiness at a duro of 40 for added comfort and impact absorption.

Hyper Ride Warehouse
Products showing "In Stock – Ships from Hyper Warehouse" are stocked at our Auckland warehouse and are normally dispatched within 1 business day, unless a different timeframe is shown on the product listing, at checkout, or in your order confirmation.
Supplier / Logistics Warehouse
Products showing "Ships Direct from Supplier", "Ships from logistics warehouse" or similar wording are dispatched directly from one of our suppliers. These items are normally dispatched within 1 working day unless a different processing timeframe is displayed.
Specific Dispatch Timeframes
Some products require extra processing time. For example, "Logistics Warehouse – Allow approx. 2 working days before dispatch" or "Aus Stock – Dispatch in approx. 7–10 working days". Where a specific timeframe is displayed against an item, that timeframe applies.
Dispatch Time vs Delivery Time
Dispatch time is the time required for your item to leave the Hyper Ride warehouse or supplier warehouse. Courier delivery time begins after the item has been dispatched.
The dispatch timeframe shown against the individual product on the product page, at checkout, or in your order confirmation takes priority over the general timeframes on this page.
If your order contains products from more than one dispatch location, your items may be sent separately and arrive at different times. Each parcel may also have a different courier and tracking number.

Rural Delivery
Rural deliveries can take an additional 1–3 working days. Exact delivery times can vary depending on the local rural courier route and service frequency.
Signature Required
Orders are sent signature required by default. If you provide permission to leave in your shipping notes, the courier may leave the parcel without a signature where their service allows.
PO Box Delivery
Orders shipped from our Auckland warehouse via NZ Post can be delivered to PO Boxes. Supplier-direct PO Box delivery depends on the supplier's nominated courier. If required, we may contact you for a physical street address.
Shipping Days
Orders are not dispatched on weekends or public holidays. Working-day dispatch and delivery estimates exclude weekends and public holidays.

Once an order has been placed, we cannot guarantee cancellations or edits before dispatch. Contact us as soon as possible and we will help where we can.
Tracking
For orders shipped from our Auckland warehouse, NZ Post tracking is automatically emailed once the courier collects and scans your parcel. Supplier-direct tracking is not always supplied automatically, so please contact us if your expected dispatch timeframe has passed and you have not received tracking.

Hyper Ride Warehouse Tracking
Hyper Ride warehouse orders are shipped using NZ Post. Tracking is automatically forwarded to you once NZ Post collects and scans the parcel. Tracking may not show movement until the first courier scan has taken place.
Supplier Tracking
Supplier-direct orders use the supplier's nominated courier. Tracking details are not always automatically forwarded to us or to the customer. If the dispatch timeframe shown against your product has passed, email us and we can request the tracking for you.
Orders From Multiple Locations
If your order contains products from the Hyper Ride warehouse and one or more supplier warehouses, the items may be dispatched separately and arrive on different days.
Different Couriers
Split orders may use different courier companies and have separate tracking numbers. Please check the dispatch information shown against each item in your order confirmation.

How Australian Orders Work
Order Processing
Orders do not ship same-day. All Australian orders first arrive at our Auckland HQ warehouse, where they are collated and processed for export. This can take up to 3 business days before dispatch.
Multiple Items
If your order contains multiple items, we’ll collate them at our Auckland HQ and ship them together so your order arrives in full.
Remote Areas
Delivery to rural or remote parts of Australia, including WA, NT, and Far North QLD, may take longer than the standard 4–6 business day estimate.
Dispatch Schedule
Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm NZ time. Our daily processing cut-off is 3:00pm NZ time. Orders placed after this, on weekends, or on public holidays will be processed the next business day.
Tracking, Customs & Returns
Tracking Your Order
You’ll automatically receive a Team Global Express tracking link once your parcel leaves Auckland and is scanned into the carrier network.
Customs & Duty Charges
International orders may be subject to customs or import duties once they reach Australia. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient. Hyper Ride cannot control, predict, or waive these fees, and we cannot mark orders as gifts.
