Lots of varying opinions of this helmet online, but I can say a few things for sure after using it for a couple weeks.
1. The mips system does creak. Not a big deal and doesn't bother me because I know what's making the noise. It's not enough to be a nuisance. You really only hear it when you're not on a trail.
2. The helmet is hot - definitely hotter than my TLD Stage, and hotter than my old Fox Proframe. Not a problem most of the time but after doing uphill work, you're pretty sweaty in this helmet, even when it's cool out.
3. The weight of the helmet - insignificantly heavier than other helmets I've had. Not enough to make a difference.
4. The biggest downside so far is the neck strap. Not something I have read other people complaining about, but probably my least favorite thing about this helmet. If you have any neck stubble it is very itchy and annoying. The lack of neck strap padding on the TLD Stage is actually more comfortable.
5. The helmet itself is a lot more confidence inspiring than other helmets I've had. Seems really well made. The honeycomb system inside it is a great idea (probably why it's so hot though). It's also very hard to take off and put on the helmet if you've already got your gloves on because of the D-ring.
